The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) has announced the 42nd Animal Welfare Research Award. Research is sought that contributes to replacing animal experiments or reducing the number of animals used. The prize has been awarded since 1980 and is endowed with 25,000 euros.
