Various stakeholders from science, science communication, ethics and animal welfare organisations will come together to discuss the newly published figures of laboratory animals that were originally bred for scientific purposes but never used for such purposes.
What exactly is behind these figures? What are the reasons why laboratory animals are not used for experiments? Why are a large number of these animals killed? Are they necessary for scientific operations or are they produced in "surplus"?
