The project of Dr. Katja Hönzke (Charité) and Dr. Mirjana Kessler (LMU Klinikum) aims to further develop the lung model, which currently consists mainly of epithelial cells. The expansion of the model with further cell types is of great importance in order to reproduce functional units of the lung tissue and thus improve the research of lung diseases.
