Dr. rer. nat. Dongwei Wu, research associate at Prof. Jens Kurreck's Department of Applied Biochemistry, has been awarded the international Chorafas Prize 2024. Every year, the Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation awards international prizes to support outstanding young scientists for their excellent doctoral theses. Dongwei Wu was honored for his doctoral thesis on “Development of in vitro 3D organ models by extrusion-based bioprinting for drug evaluation”. The prize money of USD 10,000 serves as seed money for postgraduate research.
