The traveling exhibition “TRUST – Building Trust Through Participation: Shaping the Future of Cancer Care Together” is reaching its third stop: Starting August 6, 2026, it will be on display at the Charité’s Oncology Outpatient Clinic in the Rahel Hirsch Center in Berlin-Mitte. It will remain there for six weeks and will then be on display at other locations in Berlin.
This multimedia exhibition makes current cancer research accessible and shows how new technologies can help make treatments more personalized and effective. The focus is on organoids—mini-tumors grown from patient tissue—which researchers use to better understand tumors and develop new treatment options. In addition, the exhibition explores patient involvement in research and highlights its impact.
With its move to the Oncology Outpatient Clinic, the exhibition is now even closer to the people for whom this research is of particular importance: patients, their families, and anyone interested have the opportunity to easily learn about modern cancer research and gain insight into how scientific findings find their way into medical care.
A special highlight of the exhibition is a short animated film that clearly explains what organoids are and what role they play in cancer research. The film conveys in an easy-to-understand way how so-called “mini-tumors” develop from tumor tissue and why they can serve as an important foundation for the development of personalized therapies.
The exhibition content is available on-site in German and English; additional languages are available digitally via a QR code.
TRUST was developed by Charité 3R, the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC), and the Einstein Center 3R, and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) as part of the 2026 Year of Science, “Medicine of the Future.”
The exhibition is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.
