EC3R research

Three-dimensional (3D) tissue culture models have been the subject of research for more than ten years. They are considered an important methodological breakthrough in modern biomedicine and have the potential to contribute significantly to the implementation of the 3Rs principle. Increasing evidence suggests that (human) 3D tissue models can better reflect human biology than traditional 2D culture models and at least some animal models.

However, what is evident is that there is a significant need for research to describe the limitations and capabilities of the models and thus make them more useful for research in 3Rs and biomedicine as a whole.

The goal of the Einstein Center 3R is therefore to create robust models that provide reproducible results across laboratories.

CELASC Prague 2023

The 1st Central-East European Laboratory Animal Science Congress will take place from 30.05.-01.06.2023 in Prague, Czech Republic

The congress is organized by Central-East European FELASA member associations: ARSAL (Romania), Balt-LASA (Baltic States), CLASA (Czech Republic), CroLASA (Croatia), GALAS (Georgia), HLASA (Hungary), HSBLAS (Greece), ILAF (Israel), and PolLASA (Poland).

CELASC goal is to create a meeting that will reflect the local laboratory animal science (LAS) needs in Europe and beyond, enhance the culture of care in national research communities and facilitate the continuing education of members. CELASC also represents common interests in the furtherance of all aspects of LAS and advocates responsible scientific conduct with animals in the life sciences with particular emphasis on ensuring animal welfare.
